This MAY be the missing clue. IF any of those cats are related to silvershoen blue peter, which is starting to look very likely, then after 60 years we might have FINALLY pinpointed the source of the annoying and irritating gene that has been troubling the Siamese and their related breeds for years. And finally proven that it has NOTHING to do with the bicolors etc. It may be hard to trace down RB lines after all these years, but SOMEBODY out there may have the information. This is too much of a coincidence to totally ignore. I would hope that this issue will finally be laid to rest.News

Updates on the articles on the Siamese white spotting/locket research
(Link to the original article on the locket gene)While I traced the gene back to a couple of the early descendants of THE Russian blue in many of our pedigrees, there was llittle clue as to where the problem originated. All further cases went through one of the known cats, making it hard to determine and isolate the path backward past the known carriers. Then pure luck struck. In an email correspondance with Leslie Morgan Blythe, Australian Judge and long time breeder with an awesome memory for details, I received the following:
OK - I recall a very early line of RB's here that threw lockets. (Mid 60's) From a cat called Myowne Ru Elaman who was from Sylphides Sharikov (UK) and an Oz blue pt siamese x blue domestic line. Sharikov's grandsire was Dunloe Yaroslavi and there endeth that ped as far as I have it. But the domestic line - Coochie Blue Caprice was the BP male used. He was from an Oz sire - Suey Mak Bouhaki x Ch Nunborne Wendy (NZ) Suey Mak Bouhaki=Kaybee Clematis (UK) x Velvet Mask Delphine (UK) (Both imp about 1950) Nunborne Wendy=Nunborne Blue Crackers x Prestwick Blue Caprice (UK) While it's more likely lockets emerged from the dommie breeding, nonetheless, do those UK import siamese connect with any locket-bearing UK siamese? OR.... is Dunloe Yaroslavl related to the Dunloes behind Kish???? Mind you, the Laurentide experiment was late 40's, wasn't
THANK YOU LESLIE!!!!
